A ghetto is described as a “portion of a city in which members of a minority group live especially because of social, legal, or economic pressure.
Has any one seen the new face of Ghetto, it is the most illustrious colourful thing i have seen in a while. I was searching for images of ghettos for a post and i was surprised to find images of rappers holding bling and people posing with expensive expressive clothing i would even venture to say stylish. I grew up trying to get out of a ghetto situation seeing so many of the people i grew up with turn to drugs and crime feeling the only way out to make a living was to sling dope and play “bad man” role. I know it to be a place you walk carefully if you not from there and you better know the proper way to walk. I know it to be a place where you walk through and see straight into peoples houses and bathrooms well some were like communal bathrooms.
You know the places where poverty festers and benign able to go to a “good” secondary school makes you a hero, yeah the heroes were those who could get to school and get “good” jobs, even the drug dealers would salute you and give you kudos, the outside world would look down on you and oppress you to the point that many never never finished school. No you were not given equal opportunity and society thought you were not worth much because of where you came from and what you have.
Not now today to say you are from a ghetto gives you a status similar to stardom, i even see kids from the “burbs” you know those of the bourgeoisie come to the ghetto to live pseudo ghetto lives the thing is at the end of their visit they can go away from the situation and sit with their playstation and even drive away with their parents BMW and eat clean food and have a hot shower. What they leave behind are people who at times do not have electricity and need to finish their home work before the dun goes down, who have to figure do i eat now or when i have the bends from hunger pains cause this will be the only meal for the day.
I will not claim to have lived the worst of it but i had my fair share and what i do know is that i aspire to get as far away from a ghetto life that i can so it puzzles me why so many are claiming positions within it as if it were a fabulous place to be apart of

to live in a ghetto and aspire to get out to move on to better things, is great just make sure that you do not forget where you came from, the persons you saw, how they had fallen to the ills of the ghetto, for what learks in the ghetto lerks in high places also, high places you may be aspiring to
persons may choose to go to the ghetto for more reasons, the majority of which are insignificant, i just wanted to highlight that persons leave their homes in cap estate, or whereever, in good homes to sometimes come and visit someone like you who may be aspiring to get out of it. reason being youre very much alike, and get along, afterall, all that money can’t buy good friendship
I think here you made a very important point, many of the ills that lay in the ghettos lay in the high places we aspire to. The lies, the greed, the murder… i mean to be honest a large part to why ghettos are so prominent have to do with the greed of the rich and powerful. Yet what are we speaking about when we speak of trying to get out? is it only money, big homes and fancy cars. Admittedly the ghetto does hold much poverty, the most crippling thing about it is but its nihilism and the cap it places on the very hopes and aspirations of a mans soul, the level to which one can even dream to gain integrity and selfworth.
Class is something you’re born with not some u buy.The same can be said about GHETTO.
It is my honest opinion..that “GHETTO” is a state of mind it has NOTHING to do with where u live.
It’s so AMAZING to see IDIOTS (n i do call them idiots) who were brought up in good CLEAN homes, and given every advantage as far as eduction is concerned, who behave in a manner that even people from the poorer society would find appalling. It’s soo entertaining to listen to these FOOLS whose parents ensure that they speak properly try to talk “GHETTO” and act “GHETTO”. Don’t they see that the people who were bought up with less than they were, don’t they see how HARD these people fight to try to make things better for themselves.
