A Pleasant Thought…
Much of our day seems to be centered around the wrong kind of thinking, by this i do not mean the general bad mind; you know a meditation on evil. Yes there are people who do spend their time that way, but what i am talking about is everyday folk, like me for instance; whose days seem loaded with constant struggle and many distractions from ones goals. It is like a constant battle to maintain a positive train of thought, and at this point i wonder why? Whether they are real or perceived the negativity only serves to blacken our eyes, remove us from the light.
Perhaps this is our evil since we seem to be a people obsessed with presents, and other tangible evidence of good and blessing. You know the best thing about serving God has nothing to do with what He can do, nothing to do with what can be gained by serving him, not the cures, not the success, not even the good health; for all these may fail us i mean as much as we have can be taken away from us. The most Powerful thing about God is learnt, experience and received by being in His presence. Being there gives the security that no matter what the situation, no matter how bleak a situation is that He is there and that He promises to take care of us if we just trust Him. To be in the presence where not sickness, not poverty or hardship not even death has any power of you. A place of protection, a place of perennial blessing, you know it is one thing to give thanks for all that we receive and we should, yet is is quite another to give thanks for all you have been protected against, because many of them are unseen.
So we could recount our days in what little got done as we wanted or how trouble some things were or even how terrible certain people are, certainly these are realities. Yet i urge you as even i encourage myself to not simply think positive of those things which are obvious, but be hopeful in thought knowing that the Presence of God is a far greater blessing than any present we may in some way receive, be hopeful in the power of love to over come evil, the power of justice to seek righteousness, and the power of truth to help set a blaze the fire to light a path of greatness.
There is no simplicity in life such as success or failure, for in every success we over come some failure and out of every failure we learn away to gain success. For that reason we are far greater than the accumulation of our successes or failures in the present tense we have the ability to transcend such simple notions and live with power, greatness and Love.
